Personality Testing-The Necessary Evil of Pre-Employment Testing

We often hear a groan when we tell clients and prospects that we offer pre-employment personality tests.   Personality tests, for a variety of reasons, have gotten a bad rap in recent years.  That reputation is a bit undeserved (especially with the personality profiles that EmployTest offers).

But there is proper time to use them or not use them, as interpreted by this recent post.  Personality tests will be more effective hiring tools in positions that require more specific personality traits.  A position of a machine operator might need personality testing less than a customer service or sales position.  This might be true because in the customer service position, more personality traits are needed to be successful in the position.  But instead in the machine operator position, more skills (and fewer personality traits) are critical to the success of the position.

Of course in either situation, EmployTest has you covered because we offer both skills assessments and personality assessments, as well as knowledge tests, to help you make the best hiring decisions.
